Possible Scenarios

This topic helps you add multiple similar items.

As a rule, your menu includes groups (categories) of similar items. For example, the Hot Drinks category might comprise green tea, black tea, coffee, and more. The items from this category has the same related and general modifiers or recipes. It is rather difficult to add manually each item. To facilitate this process, consider the following procedure.

Adding Multiple Similar Menu Items

To add multiple similar items

  1. Create the first (base) item and define all necessary properties, such as modifiers, recipe, etc.
NOTE: For related procedures see Items List or How to Add New Menu Item
  2. In the left pane of Back Office Management console, expand the Items List node and click Item List.
  3. Find newly created base item and select it.
  4. On the menu bar of the Items List page, click Duplicate.
This creates a copy of the base item.
  5. Click the cloned item and edit its properties. Usually, you should update only item name, price or description.
  6. Repeat Steps 3 to 5 for each new item to add.

NOTE: This procedure copies only related modifiers. If cloned items must use the same general modifiers,  you should manually assign them to each item. For more information, see Modifiers Groups.
